Manuscript featuring Gilles de Corbeil's Versus de urinis with Gilbert the Englishman's commentary to this work, the Commentum in Versus Aegidii de urinis, compiled possibly in Northern Italy or Southern France in the 13th or 14th centuries (unknown scribes). Corbeil's poem is interspersed in a larger text throughout the volume and surrounded by Anglicus' commentary. Written in a neat Gothic bookhand by several scribes, with marginal annotations in several different and later Gothic hands throughout, with some in red ink. Manuscript contains a single 3 line initial S in red ink on leaf 1r; lightly rubcricated in red in a later hand. With a manicule on leaf 7r. Leaves are numbered in a modern hand in pencil
Manuscript was previously held by Admont Abbey, Austria, with shelfmark Ms. 496 (as noted on manuscript spine label). Several leaves of this manuscript (leaves 25-39) were excised in the 20th century after it was sold by the Abbey, and subsequently sold separately than the remaining codex described here
Pastedowns made of manuscript waste, with two vellum leaves from an unidentified manuscript with text in two columns in brown ink
